Canary Calibration
You need two people and about 10 minutes.
Red, close to the truck: a high-severity alarm. Yellow: a medium-severity alarm. Green, farther out: no alarm. Where each zone begins is what you're about to teach it.
Use colored tape to place marks on the floor:
Place at least three marks for each color. Spread the marks out and make sure the camera can see the person standing on them.
One person will be the helper — they move from mark to mark and stand still. The other person uses the monitor to save each spot.
Tap the buttons on the touchscreen. If the monitor is not a touchscreen, plug in a mouse and click them.
Park the truck. On the monitor, tap CALIBRATE CAM 1.
The alarm sound turns off during calibration.
The helper stands still on a red floor mark. Wait until a number appears above the helper on the monitor.
The number may stay on screen while the helper is moving — don't save the spot until they've stopped.
Tap RED — ALARM HERE. The monitor shows how many red spots you've saved.
Repeat for at least 3 red, 3 yellow, and 3 green spots, using the button that matches each mark: RED — ALARM HERE YELLOW — WARN HERE GREEN — QUIET HERE
Wait for the helper to stand still before saving each spot. Made a mistake? UNDO removes the last one.
You can save more than three spots per color — more spots can make the zones more accurate.
Tap FINISH, check the distances shown, then tap SAVE.
The new zones start working right away — walk through the floor marks to test them.
Repeat the same steps for the other camera. You can calibrate either camera again at any time.
To set different alarm zones for a parked truck, use the STATIONARY tab — explained below.
At the top of the calibration screen are two tabs:
MOVING — sets the alarm zones for when the truck is moving.
STATIONARY — sets the alarm zones for when the truck is parked.
MOVING is selected when you open calibration. Set up MOVING first.
You do not have to set up STATIONARY. If you only set up MOVING, the truck will use those same zones when it is moving and parked. This works well for most locations.
Set up STATIONARY only if you want different alarm zones when the truck is parked. For example, you may want the alarm to sound only when someone gets very close.
To set it up, open calibration again, select STATIONARY, and repeat the same steps using floor marks for the parked truck.
Each camera has its own MOVING and STATIONARY settings.
In this practice you're the person at the monitor. Your helper walks to each floor mark on their own. Wait for them to stop, then tap the button for what the truck should do at that spot.
On the real truck that's it — no restart. Walk through the floor marks to test them.
Don't save a spot while the helper is walking. Wait until they're standing still — and use UNDO if you save the wrong spot.
The camera may follow whoever looks closest. Only the helper and the person at the monitor should be near the truck — no one walking through.
The monitor says what needs fixing — usually marks that are too close together. Move them farther apart and save the spots again.
